Birds and Beasts in Needlepoint (Ehrman)

The unusual doves and dove cote and the small sheep picture inside a wider stitched border immediately caught my eye. Here is a mix of classic, realistic (the Victorian cats, for example) and stylized designs (Noah's ark with emus, kangaroos, and hedgehogs, among others, all in a row). There are plenty of needlepoint designs and sources to whet your appetite throughout the book. Tent stitch and other basics are detailed for beginners. I especially appreciated the wonderful use of color and the over-size pages.
